NEWPORT FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Newport Fire Department was established in 1953 and protects a population of 3,435 people over 3.9 square miles. Fire Hall #1, the City's main fire hall, is located just west of Highway 61 at 155 20th Street.  Fire Hall #2 is located just east of Highway 61 at 973 Glen Road.

The Fire Department is comprised of volunteer firefighters who, regardless of their experience, each undergo weekly training and fire drills.  Our firefighters are prepared to fight fires, make rescues, mitigate hazardous material situations, and educate the public on fire prevention.  Additionally, our firefighters also help out neighboring communities by providing Mutal Aid Assistance when needed.

The Fire Department is also pleased to be an active part of the community by being the proud Charter Sponsor of the local Boy Scouts of America Troop #15, holding an annual holiday season toy drive, and putting on an annual Booya each July.

Fire Chief:
Mark Mailand

Assistant Fire Chiefs:
