PIONEER DAY - Sunday, August 14, 2016
Once again, it’s time for the City’s annual get-together celebration! This year’s festivities will take place on Sunday, August 14th, at Pioneer Memorial Park and is jam-packed with fun! Below is a schedule of events for the day:
There will be food, vendors, games, bingo, inflatables, a car show, and the St. Paul Park-Newport Lions Club's beer and wine tent for everyone to enjoy! All you can eat corn on the cob will be available with the purchase of a Pioneer Day button, which will be available at Newport City Hall, the Library and Community Center and at various local businesses in July. You may purchase a button for $3, or 4 for $10. The buttons are also used for the raffle drawing. Individuals do not need to be present for the raffle drawing as winning numbers will be placed on the City's website, Facebook page, and Channel 18.
Looking for Volunteers - The City is looking for volunteers to help out on Pioneer Day. The City and Anchor Bank will be co-sponsoring the corn tent once again this year and is seeking volunteers to help prepare the corn between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. If you are interested in volunteering at the corn tent, please contact City Hall at (651) 459-5677.
For those interested interested in reserving a spot in the parade or vendor, you will need to fill out and submit an application.
If you have any questions about Pioneer Day, please contact Renee Eisenbeisz, Executive Analyst, at (651) 556-4601 / firstname.lastname@example.org.
