Mission Statement:  The Newport Police Department is committed to excellence, fairness, and compassion in providing balanced police services in accordance with the law,responsive to the priorities and needs of the community, and in harmony with the mission of the City of Newport.

The Newport Police Department exists to protect and serve the members of its community and does so by providing services that include crime prevention, the enforcement of State statutes and City ordinances, the apprehension of criminals, maintaining effective community relations, and emergency life-saving response.
