Farm Animal License

Chicken Permits
Residents living on a single-family property in the R1, R1-A, RE, MX-1 or MX-4 Districts can have chickens with a Chicken Permit. The Chicken Permit is $25 per year and needs to be approved by the City Council annually. Residents wishing to get a chicken permit must receive written consent from 75% of property owners situated within 150 feet from the chicken coop.  Click here for City Code for chickens.

Farm Animals
Residents living on at least four acres can have farm animals with a Farm Animal Permit. The Farm Animal Permit is $25 per year and needs to be approved by the City Council annually.  Residents living in the RE District can keep honeybees with a Farm Animal Permit. Residents wishing to keep honeybees must provide written notification to properties within 250 feet from the hive. Special Animal Permit
Residents wishing to keep more than four rabbits, guinea pigs, dove, or pigeons must obtain a Special Animal Permit from the City Council.  The Special Animal Permit is $25 per year and needs to be approved by the City Council annually.  Click here for City Code for animals.
