Free mattress and box spring collection for Newport residents during the last week of June.  Newport residents can request a free pickup for Tuesday, June 27, or Thursday, June 29, by visiting https://www.secondchancerecyclingmn.com/curbside-collection-program/ and scrolling down the page until you see choose your City and click Newport and fill out the required fields. The City is collaborating with Second Chance Recycling and the Ramsey/Washington County Recycling and Energy Center to offer free mattress and box spring recycling collection.

Second Chance Recycling is a social enterprise of EMERGE Community Development and provides high quality recycling services.  Beyond the environmental impact, Second Chance makes a profound impact in the community with their re-entry program. The majority of their employees are individuals with significant barriers to employment who benefit from a variety of support services. Participants are typically employed for 6 to 9 months and develop solid work habits and skills necessary to obtain a career.
