Notice is hereby given that the Newport Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on minor subdivision at 766 19th Street, Newport, MN 55055 during the regular Planning Commission Meeting on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 5:30 p.m., or shortly thereafter, at Newport City Hall, 596 7th Avenue, Newport, MN 55055. Notice is hereby given, that the City Council of the City of Newport will be holding a public hearing to review and potential revocation of the Interim Use Permit (IUP) issued for Mayle Trans LLC for the property located at 1680 4th Avenue, Newport, MN 55055 on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at 5:30 p.m., or soon thereafter, and will be held in the City Hall Council Chambers at Newport City Hall, 596 7th Avenue, Newport, MN 55055. Notice is hereby given that the City of Newport, will receive multiple prime sealed bids for the Newport City Hall & Public Safety Building, at the Newport City Hall 596 7th Avenue, Newport, MN  55055 until 2pm on Tuesday, November 17th, 2020 at which time they will be opened and read aloud. The work for this bid package includes Contracts for:  #0330 and #0420 Cast-In-Place Concrete and Masonry, #0341 Structural Precast Concrete, #0510 Structural Steel – Erection, #0512 Structural Steel – Supply, #0610 Carpentry & GC, #0750 Roofing & Metal Panels, #0790 Caulking & Firestopping, #0810 Doors/Frames & Hardware – Supply, #0833 Coiling Doors & Rolling Grilles, #0840 Aluminum Entrances/ Storefronts/Windows & Glazing, #0920 Drywall/Plaster &Fireproofing, #0930 Tile, #0950 Acoustical Ceilings & Panels, #0965 Resilient Flooring & Carpet, #0990 Painting, #1420 Conveying Equipment, #2100 Fire Protection, #2200 Plumbing & HVAC Piping, , #2300 HVAC & Ventilation, #2600 Electrical/Communications/Fire Alarm, #3100 Earthwork/Site Utilities, #3210 Asphalt Paving/Curbs/Exterior Concrete, #3290 Landscaping and Fencing.  Reference Specification Section 01 12 00 Contract Work Scope Descriptions for detailed listing of items included in each Contract.

A pre-bid conference will be held on site, 2060 1st Ave. Newport, MN 55055 at 10am on Tuesday, October 27th, 2020.

All bids must be sealed and marked for the appropriate contract for which the bid is submitted.  Bids shall be submitted in exact accordance with Bid Documents (including Instructions to Bidders and Proposal Forms) and Contract Documents (including Drawings and Specifications) as prepared by Brunton Architects.

Documents will be available on or about October 19th, 2020, at the Minneapolis, St. Paul, Mankato, Rochester, St. Cloud and Mid-Minnesota Builder's Exchanges; Reed Construction Data (CMD) and McGraw-Hill Construction Plan Room.

Bidders may obtain sets of Bidding Documents by contacting Lisa Knox by emailing her at  Plans will be distributed electronically only.  Contractors will be responsible for printing plans if hard copies are desired.

The bids shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or corporate surety bond in an amount equal to five (5%) percent of the base bid, as bid security.  No personal checks will be accepted.

No bids may be withdrawn within 60 days after opening the bids.  A bidder may withdraw his or her bid at any time prior to the date set for receiving bids, or authorized postponements thereof.  Thereafter, bids may be withdrawn only after 60 days have elapsed after bid date, provided the City of Newport has not acted thereon.  Bids may be withdrawn only by written request.

The City reserves the right to either award and hold contracts directly with H+U Construction serving as the City’s Construction Manager as Adviser; or award and transfer contracts to H+U Construction with H+U Construction serving as the Construction Manager At-Risk. 

The City of Newport reserves the right to reject any or all bids received and to waive informalities and irregularities in the bidding.
